"It was around three in the morning when the final result of my calculations appeared before me. I felt deeply shaken. I was so disturbed that I couldn't think of sleeping. I left the house and started walking slowly in the darkness. I climbed onto a rock that jutted out over the sea, at the tip of the island, and waited for the sun to rise..."
 W. Heisenberg
This illustration captures the essence of W. Heisenberg's "Epiphany at Helgoland." It visualizes the pivotal moment described in his diary when unable to sleep from the excitement of its final result of his calculation he sought the sunrise atop a rock. The image serves as a visual narrative, encapsulating the profound impact of scientific revelation on an individual.
This artwork, within my personal project on illustrated quantum mechanics, embodies my concept of illustrated science—an alternative to traditional scientific illustration.
Merging the metaphorical language of illustration with scientific rigor, I aim to provide a fresh approach in communicating scientific ideas inviting the readers to visually engage with the scientific narrative.
